The law moved. So did the book.
Nevada construction law is statutory law, and the Legislature has been busy. Since the last edition, five legislative sessions have reshaped the rules Nevada builders work under. Public works requirements have changed nearly every session. Deadlines, notice rules and payment protections have been rewritten along the way.
This edition is not an update with new footnotes. It is rewritten cover to cover, and it runs more than 150 pages longer than the book it replaces.
If you build in Nevada, the question is rarely whether a rule applies. It's which statute, which deadline, and whether you've already missed it.
- Every chapter reworked against current Nevada Revised Statutes and case law
- Expanded coverage of public works, where the rules change most often
- Where the law hasn't kept up with how projects are actually run and paid for, including technology and AI
- Organized to be pulled off the shelf and used, not read front to back
The whole project lifecycle, under Nevada law

About the book
Where can I buy Nevada Construction Law: 2027 Edition?
The softcover and Kindle editions are available on Amazon now. The hardcover edition is available for pre-order from Barnes & Noble.
How is the 2027 edition different from the previous one?
It is the 7th edition of the treatise and the first since 2016. Leon completely revised and expanded it, cover to cover. Ten years of statutory change and five Nevada legislative sessions, every chapter reviewed against current statutes and case law and carefully updated. Plus, Leon added more than 150 pages. Public works received the most extensive revision, and the book now addresses technology and AI implementations in construction.
Who is the book written for?
Nevada contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, owners and developers, construction executives and general counsel, and the attorneys who advise them. It is a reference work, organized so you can go straight to the statute and topic you need.
Does the book cover mechanics liens and construction defects?
Yes. It covers Nevada's mechanics lien statutes in NRS Chapter 108, the construction defect process in NRS Chapter 40, contractor licensing under NRS Chapter 624, public works, payment and retention, and contract disputes.
Is the book a substitute for legal advice?
No. It explains Nevada construction law in depth, but every project and dispute turns on its own facts and deadlines. If you're facing a lien deadline, defect claim or payment dispute, talk to an attorney.
